What is Quartz?

Quartz is a man-made stone formed by combining approximately 90% ground quartz (a natural, hard material) with 8-10% resins, polymers and pigments. When combined, this forms a very hard granite-like surface. The appearance depends on how the quartz is ground: Coarsely ground quartz produces a flecked appearance, while finely ground quartz produces a smooth look.

The material is both extremely hard and durable, with a glossy sheen. Like Granite, it is a non-porous, stain and crack resistant.
